Sexual minorities demand same sex marriage

Itahari, May 6 (RSS): The sexual minorities have said that the mass media should advocate to ensure legal status to the same sex marriage.
At an interaction programme organized today by the Blue Diamond Society in Itahari, the activists said that the existing laws have failed to ensure rights to the sexual minorities but the positive message should be delivered for their cause.
Activists Anuj Rai Peter and Sanjay Sharma said that the sexual monitories have not realized guarantee of their rights due to wrong perception on same sex marriage.
Many sexual minorities have come out in the society due to supports from the media, Suman Tamang and Muskan Shrestha shared their hardships created due to treatment from the society and families.
They also laid emphasis on supportive roles from the media to get positive response from the family, society and the state towards the people of sexual minorities.
On the occasion, the organizers said that around 700 people are affiliated to different organizations working for sexual minorities though at least 700,000 people were in contact.
